Particle modeling at ACES in two decades
Last modified: 2017-07-12
Abstract
Particle methods including molecular dynamics (MD), dissipative particle dynamics (DPD), and smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) have been regarded as the next generation computational methods in engineering and sciences. During the last two decades, ACES members have been working on particle methods and particle modeling with ever-increasing diversified applications. Many of them become word-class leading researchers in this broad area. In this talk, I will review the developments of some typical particle methods and particle modeling technologies, introduce some major achievements accomplished by prestigious ACES fellows and discuss future directions of particle methods and particle modeling.
