Abstract

The two-stage method makes possible to calculate statically indeterminate trusses in two separate stages. It applies the principle of superposition as well as one of the other methods of calculation of the statically determinate trusses, like for instance the Cremona’s method [1]. Thus forces determined by application of the two-stage method are of the approximate values. In the most investigated papers the degree of approximation is good enough for needs of the structural analysis [2].

The paper presents results of calculations of statically indeterminate trusses having various static systems. There are considered different ways of cancelation of the truss members as well as the various ways of selection of members that have to be rejected from certain areas of the trusses, according to the rules of the two-stage method. All the compared systems of trusses are suitably loaded and supported, what is the basic condition for carry out the comparative analysis of the gained results.
