GPU Parallel Study of Explicit and Implicit Solution of Poisson Equation in Particle Method

Abstract


In this paper, an improved form of explicit solution of pressure Poisson equation is introduced. Based on the existing 2D dam-break program, the numerical results are in good agreement with the original implicit solution of the pressure Poisson equation,computing efficiency is greatly improved;At the same time, the MPS method is combined with the GPU parallel acceleration technique. Based on the CUDA programming language, the GPU is parallelized to solve the pressure Poisson equation. Compared with the CPU solver, the developed program greatly reduces the solution time of the pressure Poisson equation and improves the calculation efficiency. The maximum acceleration ratio can reach 13.58 through the numerical simulation of two dimensional dam-break problems with different particle numbers.And the developed program has better reliability and good adaptability.
