Abstract

Estimation of the welding current in Gas Tungsten Arc welded (GTAW) process with a specified width penetration is presented in this paper. The welding current determination of GTAW process is performed by using the inverse method. In this work, the inverse method utilized is the Levenberg – Marquardt method. The advantage of this method is that algorithm is simple, easy to apply and have high convergence rate. Two examples are considered to demonstrate the proposed method. The results show that the proposed method is an efficiency method to estimate the welding current for a specified width penetration in GTAW process.
