Abstract

Ion concentration polarization (ICP) is a crucial method to concentrate or separate samples of charged molecules. This work utilized the principle of free flow ion concentration polarization focusing (FF-ICPF) to simulate the extraction of Li+ ions in high magnesium-lithium ratio (Mg2+/Li+)ratio brine. The pressure-driven flow(PDF) continuously flows through the system while Li+ is continuously concentrated by the ICP driven by a perpendicular electric field. Use a typically diluted salt  lake brine. Our results showed that the FF-ICPF model could increase Li+ concentration to 1.57 times while decreasing the Mg2+/Li+ ratio by 94.95%.
